I honestly forgot that I made this blog up about 3 years ago until a college class I was talking said we had to make a blog, and I said "HEY, I already made one a LONG time ago!" Well, reading through that first post pretty much makes me want to post on here more because that was actually really cool to read through. I cant believe how much has changed, and how much has stayed the same in our family. CADEN is the one getting ready to go to Kindergarten this new school year. So weird to say that. Time flies. Chloes still tiny, and Julia's still a drama queen, but worse since she's coming in on her teenage years. So, I'm going to at least attempt to update this a little more regularly and with more info on the family and maybe some of the extended family will be able to keep up with our crazyness. lol
Until then. . . .

I guess I'll finally start posting
I've had this blog for a while now, but never got the gumption to actually start "blogging". I have so much to say that sometimes I dont know where to start. Its like, overwhelming. Get used to the fact I'm not the best speller, and this isnt a english term paper, so the grammer is probably kinda crappy too. Usually it'll be me, Kathy, typing stuff in since Joey doesnt like typing, or writing, or any of all that stuff.
I'll start off by talking about our family. As of now, March of 2008 We are a family of 5 humans and 2 dogs.
Joey: Joey is a 29 yr old "funny guy" who was a natural born salesman. It took him 29 years to admit to it though. He has been the most unlucky guy when it comes to jobs that ever existed. You know that guy from the Simpsons, "Grimey" ? Well, we sometimes feel that when it comes to jobs, Joey is Grimey. More about his "story" to come later. I'm just looking for generalities here and now. Joey has tossed around the idea of being in law enforcement, but to be honest, he struggles with his weight, and that makes it hard to get into that kind of work, and the few times he was on his way, well, things didnt work out. He's thought about doing stuff with his hands, like in the construction field but it isnt reliable, and is hard to find something that offers a CAREER and not just a job unless you have schooling. So, after the oh, 2000 th person told him that he should try sales, and his last job didnt work out he said, HEY, I'll give it a shot. Lets just say that there has been some down times, (like its on commission, and theres been some slow weeks) but overall, he is by FAR the happiest he has EVER been in a job in his life. By his 2nd month there, he was the top salesman, and every month since has been in the top 3, usually either 1st or 2nd. He sales used cars for Edwards Subaru Hyandai in Council Bluffs IA. Yep, he's a used car salesman. Imagine, a christian used car salesman. Is that an oxymoron, or is he being hypocritical? Actually not really. He has NEVER lied to anyone. He has NEVER intentionally tried to decieve someone. He actually routinely doesnt make a whole lot of money on each sale, but he sells a LOT of cars. People trust him. He is a nice guy. Joey is genuine. He is very adaptable, but he isnt fake. I think a lot of people see that. I just wish he would have taken this "risk" years ago when he was first told he should try sales. Oh, well. You live and you learn huh? More to come about Joey later.
Kathy: Kathy (this may sound funny, cuase I'm typing this about myself) is a "different" person. She is not what you'd call the 'average jane' out there. She looks at things from a different view, and sometimes that is a blessing, sometimes its a curse. She has been burned by friendships MANY times in the past, and because of that, has trouble with confidence. Joey tells her all the time she is super smart and doesnt push herself enough. Its harder than it looks ya know. Her main focus in life is her family though. If she had it her way she'd have tons of kids, but she's realistic. She is hoping that sometime in the next year or two they can complete thier family with one more addition, but no "official" plans have been made yet. She spends a lot of time doing stuff for Julia (and soon to be Chloe's) school. She also spends a lot of time talking to her online group of friends. Yes, she is one of "those type" that has all the online friends. There are a few of them that have been with her for a long time now, and they are MORE than just online friends. Some of them she's met in real life, and one she found out she even went to school with (small world). These women are some of the best friends she's ever had, and she wishes she could hop in a plane and fly all over the country to see them. She KNOWS that someday she WILL though. More about Kathy later.
Julia: Julia is the 7 yr old drama queen wonder child. She is the spitting image of Kathy as a kid, (but with blue eyes) and the mirror image of her personality. She LOVES animals, and is an overachiever when it comes to school. Things come really easy for her academically. She reads like there is no tommorrow, and generally is the model student. She is the DRAMA QUEEN at home though. A scratch turns into a horrible gash, a tummy ache she is dying from, and being scolded is the end of the world. I guess things could be worse though. She is a good kid. She aims to please. She wants to be a vet/teacher/writer when she grows up.
Chloe: Chloe is our tiny but mighty little 5 yr old. She is starting Kindergarden in the fall, and is extreamly excited! She is only 37 inches tall and 34 lbs though. She is SO PETITE. We are thinking about getting her some more testing done to make sure there isnt something wrong. She was genetically tested for things when she was little (think a 10 lb 6 month old) but everything came back fine. She's not developmentally behind though, just tiny. She's full of love though! She is a clingy loving gentle soul. She wants to be a princess, and things need to be "fashionable". She says the funniest things. We think she inherited Kathy's "look at things from a different view" thinking. She'd live in her dress up clothes. She also wants to marry Joey when she grows up.
Caden: Cade is our little 18 month old MONSTER! He is 100% boy in the typical steriotypical sense. He LOVES cars, and he LOVES dogs. He is a total daredevil, and is a goofball. He's going to give Kathy a heart attack before he's 5. He doesnt talk much as of now, but he understands everything. He is also a TOTAL mommies boy. Joey isnt to pleased with that, but he knows that its just the age. Kathy told him that in another year or 2 it will be ALL about Dad! Kathy's just enjoying this time cause she KNOWS it wont last. They are little for such a short time.
Dasher: Dasher is our about 2 1/2 yr old boxer mix male dog. He is a PSYCHO! We got him from the humane society on Christmas Eve (hense the name Dasher) and he was barely 10 lbs. He is now almost 80. He is the neediest dog EVER. He thinks he is still a puppy and tries to crawl up in our lap, and will try to kill ya with kindness if you walk out the house and come back. He also crawls up in our bed every night. We love him though.
Daisy: Daisy is our Beagle/Lab mix female dog. She is only about 4-5 months old right now. We got her from the humane society also. We thought Dasher needed a friend to take some of his "needyness" out on. At first, he didnt care about her, but now they are best friends. Its cute. She is also a very lovable dog. She is a cuddler. She is about 25 lbs now and the vet thinks she'll be about 40-50. She also craws in bed with us every night.
Yes, Cade and Chloe still sleep with us too. Even on occasion Julia crawls in bed. Oh, and NO we dont have some huge california king or super king sized bed. Its a queen. Yes, we take "family bed" to a new level. lol
Well, that is us in a nutshell for now. I'll get to the more nitty-gritty stuff soon here.
